My Fairy Godmother By: Megan Eberhart
Poet He was gone, And nobody knew. What is a sixth grader supposed to do? Who should I call? Where did he go? I answer these questions with, “I do not know!” I feel like a mouse lost in a maze, I just keep walking around and around in a daze. I went to the kitchen, Hanging my head, And there on the table was a letter that said, “I have a secret. Do not be afraid.” And all of my loneliness seemed to fade. People will tell me, “Fairy godmothers are just for fun,” But I will say no, Because I have one.

As I thought of some connections from the events, characters, and wording in the book and my life a lot of connections came to my mind. One connection is that in this book Gabe had a loving dog named Guppy that is very friendly and comforting. I have a dog named Creole who is friendly, comforting, and playful just like Guppy. Also another connection is that Gabe lost one of his closets relatives, his uncle. Well in my lifetime I lost one of my closets companions, my grandpa. I was devastated when I lost my closets companion and in this book Gabe was devastated when he lost his uncle. Another connection is that when I went to his funeral I felt really gloomy and sad and when Gabe went to his uncle’s funeral he felt the same way. A connection that my group has with the book is that they all enjoy sleeping over their friend’s house just like Gabe did with his best friend Webber. There are many connections that I have with this book.
The police found out that Gabe’s uncle had died so they investigated and got Gabe to question him about what happened. When the police were investigating Gabe’s house Guppy saw them and got scared so she acted mean. When an officer saw this he got scared and shot her. Of course she got to a vet right after that. Gabe after all this got a good home with his Language/English teacher. He loved the new home he got with his teacher.
